Trauma is something that can be experienced from a young age but not always. As adults we can experience a significant event or series of events that cause post traumatic stress (ptsd)
Trauma can impact your life in a big way and sometimes in small ways. It might be that you struggle to focus at work, you have recurring memories of an event that leaves you continually feeling traumatized. Or, it could be that you cannot leave the house due to agoraphobia coupled with other symptoms of trauma such as sweating, shaking, feeling like you are out of your body and out of your mind.
You may be wondering if you have to live like this for the rest of your life or worse, you have been TOLD that the only way to manage for the rest of your days is to be medicated and managing the symptoms as best you can. This is NOT the solution and it is in no way how we were meant to live life. I believe it is our birthright to live happy, joyous, loving lives.
